As a pedantic , scrupulous and bold torch bearer ,

Who resented and rebelled in a dignified non - violent means like a demurer.

Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2nd October ,

Into a Gujrati Hindu Modh Bania family in Porbandar.

Much acclaimed as an anti - colonial nationalist ,

He was the ultimate motivator, leader in India's freedom struggle as a humanist.

In the elementary school challenges,

His goals were accomplished in a vehement desire.

As he refused to comply with racial segregation rules in South Africa in a denial.

Internationally esteemed for his doctrine of non - violent protest,

He was a strong administrator to steer up a rage ;

Against the capricious dictators in an arrest.

Regular oppressions transgressed into an impassioned civil disobedient movement ,

As an efficient barrister and lawyer for 20 years,

He envisioned a world where humanity would be an unanimous sloganeer.

Parading towards the Arabian Sea in the town of Dandi,

The Salt Satyagraha campaign in 1930 unbolted the vivacity and courage.

It rattled the British Colonial rule in an astonishment ,

And a turning point in the Indian Independence movement.

With simplicity, confidence , truthfulness and being emphathatic,

He triggered my emotions and remained as a perennial source of inspiration.

Resisting the invitation to Dr. Howard over a visit to U.S.

Gandhiji was a true patriot who experienced non- violence in his own nation.

Ahimsa ( no harm ) was a doctrine so divine ,

It enhanced the motive to eradicate untouchibility;

And inspired people to value humanity.

Do or die ignited the urge to freedom struggle through QUIT INDIA movement ,

In an exaggerated machismo thousands united to rebel and confront the battle with an empowerment.

Venerated as a social and political reformer ,

Gandhijis sweat , blood and sacrifice enhances our spirit ;

To commemorate 2nd October as Gandhi Jayanti in a fervour.

His self - reliance , perseverance and determination was marked by,

The path of progress alongwith his charkha;

He was the ray of hope for millions of innocent hearts for struggling to breathe in a free .
